This theme is awesome! I do however have two questions. 1. Is there a way to change the boot up/shut down screen and the log in screen to match the theme? 2. Do you by chance know of a good screensaver to go with it?

EDIT: OK so apparently it IS possible to change the log in screen as seen here: seanachaidh125.deviantart.com/… The OP even provides a link to a tutorial.

Yep, you can change the boot animation as well. Here you go:

www.mediafire.com/download/bjh…

It's an executable program with interface that allows you to customize your boot animation, even the text that displays.

If you're referring to the theme specifically, there is no 'install' option for the theme itself. So long as Universal Theme Patcher has been run correctly and the files / folders are placed correctly, a restart should be all it needs to operate.

If you require further assistance, I can offer help via Skype's screenshare.

It took some doing but I think I have it all installed, but I noticed there are a LOT more sound files than actually get used in the sound settings it carried over, are there some that went unmapped or do you have suggestions for where those unused sound files should go?

Oh, hmm... No one's mentioned that before. I had a look back in the Sound Scheme folder and I suppose you're right.

It's up to you. I think I left a lot in there for it to be optional to the user, if they want to change some of the sounds for other ones in the folder.

Feel free to toss whichever ones you don't want. You can remap any of 'em via right-clicking desktop -> Personalization -> Sounds

Does it work for windows 8?

Likely a negatory. Win 8 utilizes a different visual style altogether, but I have not tried as I do not have Win 8.

That is strange. I checked the link, and it is still a live link. Do you mean it did not install correctly?

Do the gadgets you have there come with it? If not, how do I acquire them?

By 'gadgets', might you be referring to the Rainmeter skins? (the white-text things in the four corners of the screen)

If so, there's a link to the tutorial for them in the description box.

Ah! Okay! Thanks! The reason I called them 'gadgets' is I thought they were skinned Windows gadgets.

is there a specific way to just use the mlp sound file?

Eeyup!

-Run the MLP theme on your computer and right-click the desktop to go to 'Personalize'.
-Near the bottom-right, go to 'Sounds'.
-In Sounds, there should be a drop-down menu for "Sound Scheme:" with a 'Save As...' button next to it.
-Save the MLP Sound Scheme, then change your desktop theme to whatever theme you want to use.
-Go back to 'Sounds' and load up the MLP sound scheme and press OK!

I've seen similar comments, but I have not personally encountered this error myself. So long as the folders and theme file are placed correctly, all should work accordingly.

Also, a safe measure that I have found to fix most general issues is this:
run the Universal Theme Patcher to patch both the 64-bit *and* 32-bit versions. For some reason, this seems to clear up some errors.

My only problem with this is in teamspeak when a link is posted it's the same colour as the background making it near impossible to see.

Yip. It's a tough task to maintain a theme's coloration while providing enough contrast of color values to distinguish text legibly.

Different programs manage colors differently as well; some utilize their own color schemes, and others use the Windows' theme colors which can result in conflict.

See if Teamspeak provides a means to change link colors specifically.

I really like this theme but I've had a hell of a time trying to get it all to work. I'm using windows 7 professional. Before, I could get everything but the start menu background to work. So I reinstalled my theme patcher and resource changer, reinstalled the complete zip file on here, now. Only half of everything is working compared to before when I only had to deal with the start menu. I really like this theme, it's really awesome and looks great, but I hate that I can't get everything to work.

Quite the frustration there. Well, sorry to say there isn't a lot I can do since I am not there to fiddle with it myself.

But if you've followed the tutorial closely, and it still doesn't work then try another custom Win 7 theme. (maybe this one I just found: www.deviantart.com/art/Re-Dege… )
If the new theme has the same style issues, then it may be something going wrong with the install or how your OS handles themes.
If the new theme works fine, then it may be something with my upload.

Lemme know if you're unable to resolve it.

I love this theme so much!  I got the Vinyl Scratch one to work perfectly!  But I can't get this one to work!  I'm running on Windows 7 Professional 64-bit!  Any suggestions why one would work and not this one?  >.<

You know, it's a peculiarity that I have experienced similar frustrations when installing both themes on a Win 7 machine that isn't mine.

I can get one to run with no issues, but the other goofs.

Unfortunately, I do not remember how I got it to finally work... But all I can really recommend is watching my tutorial and ensuring that all is as it should be.

If nothin' prevails, lemme know.
